Bioidentical Cream

Why is the bioidentical cream I'm using not helping??????
My Gyn said I am full blown menopausal. She wanted to put me on HRT but I asked for a prescription for the Bioidentical cream being mixed at a pharmacy here.
She gave me the lowest dose possible & its not helping. The RN who mixed it said it was too low a dosage. Can that be????? The bottle reads Tries0.3/Proges10MG/GM.
HELP!!!!!!!
Hi Shirley,
I'm glad to hear that you have opted to use something natural rather than the every popular synthetic HRT that is doing women so much harm.
Yes, you can certainly be on too low a dosage that would contribute to you not getting any relief from your menopausal symptoms.
Do you know what the Tries 0.3 represents in your prescription? I'm assuming it is short for the name of some form of Estrogen. Is that correct?
Although Estrogen levels drop during menopause, they don't drop nearly as much as the progesterone levels. So the hormones are completely out of their natural balance.
I would suppose that it is the Progesterone amount that is inadequate based on my own research and the information I have read by Dr. John Lee and others on the subject of hormone balance and the importance of natural progesterone.
Your prescription indicates only 10 mg. of Progesterone when our body naturally produces 20-24mg. per day. That is the amount I use in the
cream that I use.
If your cream contained natural progesterone only, I would simply suggest you use more of it (double) per day - perhaps morning and evening.
Because I'm not sure what else is in your prescription, you should probably check with the person who gave you the prescription or perhaps the RN you mentioned. I don't know if it would be acceptable to double the other ingredient.
Remember, too, that you do need to give it several weeks to determine if it is making a difference, although some women have told me that they've noticed a big difference in just days.
Let me know if I can help further.
