Demodex Mites
by Rob
(Australia)
Hi, I have rosacea like symptoms which is caused by demodex mites.
I already have facial creams to help kill the mites although I'm after supplements which can also kill mites and skin parasites.
Do you know of any foods or supplements which may help?
Thanks,
Rob
Hi Rob,
I've not done a lot of research yet on the Demodex mites (have to put it on my to-do list), but I can give you some general guidelines when dealing with parasites.
Some people accuse me of sounding like a broken record, so I won't disappoint - cleanse and build! :)
It's basic, but it's foundational. You want to do as much as you can to cleanse your body internally and externally and you also want to build your immune system so that your body has what it needs to repair, heal, and regain control.
Since you are in Australia, I'd recommend
Herbal Fiberblend for cleansing. It's a combination of 17 different herbs blended with psyllium fiber. The herbs have many anti-parasitic and anti-fungal properties.
I normally recommend
Para 90 capsules for cleansing as well, but Australian residents have to order those from NZ. If you decide you'd like to try some Para 90, too, let me know and I can organize that for you.
You may also want to get some
Bear Paw Garlic. Garlic is naturally anti-parasitic. You can include garlic in your dietary changes as well, but you'll get a stronger more effective dose with BPG.
As for food and other supplements, you want the best nutrition you can get. Avoid sugars as
much as possible.
Fresh vegetables (particularly juiced) will give you a richer supply of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to help build up your body and immune system.
Beets, spinach, and other greens are particularly good. I can't be bothered to juice (shame on me) and so I rely on whole food supplement powders quite often. The
Garden Trio has become a staple at our house.
The Garden Trio is made up of carrots, beetroot, and barley grass. They are juiced and dried at low temperatures to retain the live enzymes and rich nutrition.
Interestingly enough, I received a note from another Australian man who had a long time skin condition (including red rash on his face). He used the
Redibeets along with some other liver cleansing supplements and his face completely cleared up in about 8 weeks.
Finally, it is ESSENTIAL that you take some good quality probiotics. I would suggest either
Florafood capsules or
In-Liven Probiotic powder. They are both available in Australia and have a good reputation for high quality.
As for the Demodex mites, I did do a little research on it for you today and two of the most commonly recommended natural external remedies were the use of
Tea Tree Oil or Sea Buckthorn Oil (diluted by 50% in a carrier oil).
Just be careful when putting anything close to your eyes. You don't want to cause yourself additional problems. :)
I hope these suggestions help to offer you some relief and healing. If I can be of further help, please let me know.
To your good health!Angie
