The Human Digestion Process

The human digestion process is obviously one of the most important of all of our bodily functions.

Imagine what would happen if your body failed to properly digest the food you ate. How would that affect your health?

Perhaps you don't have to imagine. You may already be suffering from the symptoms of poor digestion and know first hand the consequences involved and the digestive system diseases that can result.

The reason that digestive health is so vital is because all of the building blocks that your body uses to create healthy cells, maintain balanced hormones, and fight off infection and disease are provided through the human digestion process.

Digestion begins the moment food or drink enters your mouth, and is not complete until the body absorbs and utilizes the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients it receives and eliminates all the residue.

We generally think of the elimination process in digestion to be primarily through the bowels, but all of the major organs work together to get rid of useless and/or toxic materials and have them exit the body as quickly as possible.

Each section along the entire digestive tract plays a significant role in extracting the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and nutrients that your body needs and puts them to good use.

When you are giving your body inadequate nutrition (building blocks) by eating too much junk food or not enough "good" food, should you be surprised when your body is unable to stay healthy and strong?

I've spent a lot of my life worrying about my diet in relation to weight management. As I've grown older and wiser, I've come to realize that diet is SO much more important than that!

Good nutrition and healthy digestion is the most significant and influential element to overall good health. I've learned not to take my good health for granted or assume that I can be careless in my eating habits and not pay for it at some point.

I'm definitely NOT a nutrition freak or someone who abstains from all forms of junk food. That's great if you can maintain that kind of lifestyle. I know myself well enough to know that I can't.

But I HAVE learned to do all things in moderation...

  • I try to eat a reasonably healthy diet.

  • I perform a natural colon cleanse once or twice a year.

  • I supplement with good quality vitamins and whole food supplements to insure my nutritional intake is adequate.

These simple and effective routine maintenance habits have stood me in good stead over the years.

In fact, if you are suffering from digestive disorders like, upset stomach, bloating, acid reflux, constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel, intestinal parasites, or skin conditions (to name a few), you need to pay close attention to understanding the human digestion process.

By taking steps to cleanse your digestive tract and give your body more nutritional building blocks to work with, you'll find that your symptoms will improve and quite possibly be completely healed. You will speed up digestionand in turn reduce the toxic build up in your bowels and in your blood.

To your good health!
