Beach Ear Parasite Caught At South Father Island

Hello, I have a question about possible ear parasites...

I have a patient who claims that after she went to the beach at South Father Island that she started to hear a sound in her ear that she describes like an engine roaring.

The sound is smooth on the morning and aggravates through the day, having it's peak every night over the past 5 months.

She went with ORL doctors that treated it like an otitis, without results, and sent her having ear test, except for MRI or CT, all of which resulted normal.

She's had a lot of medications including antibiotics and neuromodulators without any improvement.

Last week the husband referred that he approached his ear to his wife's ear and he could also hear the sound. So I checked it with my stethoscope and could also hear it. Though it was in the morning, when apparently it's weaker.

With all the data I suspect that the etiology could be parasitic, given the fact that she's a healthy 50 year old woman without any neurological history.

I've been looking over the internet for a case similar without any good result. Hope you can help her.

Your body can do a lot of cleansing and healing on its own if you just give it the things it needs to do that. ear parasites

I also have been hearing motors and engines. Loudest at night. It is very disturbing and it started one yr ago. At that time I had to get my Achilles tendon repaired. Something happened after that because I thought I was getting bit on my hips and back, looked like scabies. ER dr. didn't come close to me and just said it was scabies and treated me for that. It didn't get better and I got treated several times. Then the biting stopped on the outside of me and started on my skin under first layer. There were/are open areas. I had to have one toe amputated and another toe got some kind of greenish thick slime and in Matter of week it had vanished. i am still trying to get things cleared up. My fingers have small circular skin looking things.Under that is a hole in my skin and it seems like the skin sticks down into the hole. I feel like I AM in the Twilight zone. I AM a Psych RN. I can't work till I'M better. i AM filing for disability. I have been dg. delusional parasytosis. They think I'm just cutting self,even husband. My sister believes me. she had something like it for years.where her arms itched terribly ND I saw something very small black probably mite, or morggie, not sure which but it was ON HER ARM AND SHE COULD feel it. Now she has terminal cancer and the chemo might have killed it for her. I am going to put on vaseline. and i have to keep washing my hands. I am supposed to see ENT and see the audiologist. I am hearing impaired and have had tinnitus my entire life, not motors and engines though. very scarey. one nite it woke me up and I thought a jet landed in the yard. for real. It has gone on every day. except for a few.

Dealing with possible Ear Parasites

Hi Dante,

I'm not a doctor so I can't give "medical advice" but I can speculate along with you and share my own thoughts and opinions on your possible ear parasite question.

It's interesting that an ear infection has been ruled out, and now that you've actually heard the unusual noise along with the patient's husband, can you be more confident in suggesting that something is indeed in the ear and that it isn't a case of something like ringing in the ears.

Although I am not familiar with specific parasites in the beach area of South Father Island, it is safe to assume that there are numerous parasites and bacteria in the region as there are everywhere else on the globe.

I guess the main concern is coming up with a course of action rather than worrying too much about identifying a specific parasite.

My approach to parasitic infections anywhere in the body is to provide the body with anti-parasitic herbs and boost the immune system with nutritional supplements. This has been the most successful approach to date.

Since parasites are suspected, I would also be tempted to try placing a drop of clove oil combined with several drops of a carrier oil like olive oil into the ear as it is anti-parasitic in nature.
