Recurring Stomach Bug

Is this recurring stomach bug from parasites or something else?
My son is 4 and this tummy bug started after we got back from camp over 2 weeks ago.
I felt a little nauseous and had very, very loose stools the day we left camp and for the whole week but nothing like he seems to have.
He started vomiting for 1-2 hours every morning early, like 5-7am in the morning or 7-9 am, etc.
He also has had the runs quite a bit not being able to get to bathroom in time. It lasted about three days with every day getting less long for the vomiting time.
Then a week or so went by and he vomited some another morning. Just a little. He seemed fine again. During the day he seems ok, except for the very first day he vomited (and unusually nasty soft bowels.)
Now its starting again. This is the 3rd day he has vomited, just in the morning for couple hours. Although the second day, yesterday, he only vomited about 1-2x in am. He seemed fine all day, a little cranky and whinny though.
I don't think its a virus because no one else around him/us has gotten sick since we've been home, although there was one guy at camp who was sick and there is an outhouse shared there.
The camper we stayed in was very musty and moldy although I had a good ionic air purifier in there while we were there.
If you can please let me know if this sounds familiar or if you think it's just a virus or bacterial infection.
I can take him to the doc, but I will not give him any medication that's not natural.
Thanks,
Kalene
Hi Kalene,
Sorry to hear about the recurring stomach bug symptoms that your little man is enduring. I'm not a doctor, of course, but his condition does sound familiar to me.
Is it possible that he managed to drink some bad water? Maybe swam in a lake or something and got some water in his mouth?
The reason I ask is because my own darling hubby went through a
very similar sounding recurring stomach bug almost a year ago. He had the nausea and vomiting (only in the mornings) that would go on for days and then seem to go away only to return several days or even weeks later. (I used to tease him about morning sickness!).
It was SO difficult to conquer it, but thank the Lord he did in the end.
He picked up this bug that was attacking the digestive tract while he was "out bush" and had to drink nasty water (long story).
He DID go to the doctor and took some pretty strong medication for giardia (which was their best guess) but it didn't really eliminate the symptoms fully.
I did eventually get him to cleanse with
Herbal Fiberblend, which I believe finally did the trick (though, like I said, he had also taken some prescription meds).
Children can certainly use Herbal Fiberblend, too, if you want to go the same route, but there are also other options, like this
Worm Out available at Amazon.
I don't have any familiarity with this product personally, but it "sounds" pretty good (and contains the right ingredients) and may be an option you'll want to consider.
I'd also like to make a few other suggestions that you may find helpful. First of all, to help him with the nausea, you can make him a glass of warm water with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in it. I'm talking about the raw, organic apple cider vinegar (like Bragg's).
If he finds it too difficult to drink, you could put a little raw honey in it.
Also, you'll definitely want to replenish the good bacteria in his digestive tract. He has no doubt lost a lot during the bouts of diarrhea and vomiting and needs them replaced to help keep his immune system strong.
I like
Florafood myself, but there are other
good probiotics that you could choose. The important thing is to get some in him.
I hope some of these suggestions will be useful to you in helping your little fellow get rid of this recurring stomach bug.
Let me know how you progress.
Blessings,
Angie
