Lately, some mention of the swine flu epidemic is made almost every day on television, the radio, or in the newspapers.
Does fear of a swine flu outbreak make you nervous and panicky?
Sometimes
I think fear mongering is the real intent of certain parties.
You have
to admit, the pharmaceutical companies make a killing financially every
time they get the opportunity to promote some new vaccine or drug.
What's more scary to me than the actual H1N1 virus is the untested swine flu vaccine that millions of people are being encouraged to line up for without any knowledge of the risk involved.
Sadly,
in the hope of preventing themselves from catching the dreaded virus,
countless numbers will allow the government to persuade them to go ahead
and insert some of the virus into their system, voluntarily.
Is this really the answer to stopping the so-called swine flu epidemic?
Don't
get me wrong. I'm not completely opposed to all forms of
pharmaceutical drugs. There are rare occasions when these can be
helpful to combat particular diseases or viruses.
However, something
smells, in my opinion, when you start batting around the word "epidemic"
and encouraging the masses to act as guinea pigs for a 'new' vaccine
with no knowledge of the consequences.
Let's be honest!
Every year thousands of people (reportedly, even tens of thousands) die
from "regular flu" viruses. Do we call that an 'epidemic?' As sad as
the swine flu deaths are, the numbers are still minimal in comparison.
Does this warrant the mass hysteria that seems to be brewing?
I
can't tell you, "Don't get the swine flu vaccine!" That's not my
responsibility, right, or even desire. As individuals, we each need to
intelligently consider the swine flu facts and decide the best course of action for ourselves.
What I CAN tell you is some basic swine flu precautions
that you can take to reduce your own risk of contamination. I'm not
suggesting some wonder drug, or some miracle "swine flu 2009 cure."
Instead,
these common sense tips on building a strong immune system will help
you build your own body's defense against not only the h1n1 influenza,
but any of the other more common flu viruses that come around each flu
season.
I
hope you seriously consider these practical and natural solutions to
the swine flu epidemic as a serious alternative to the swine flu
vaccine. Keeping my resistance high is my preferred method of dealing
with the flu virus, regardless of the strain.
