Tiny Crawling Mites
by Nick
(Sydney, Australia)
What are these tiny crawling mites? I'v had crawling/itching, but it does not itch alot and I have spotted them on my body without being able to feel anything.
I also watched 1 of them for a while to see if it burrows under the skin, and it didn;t seem to do anything.
They are about 0.4mm long and seemed to pop up everywhere out of nowhere. I have found about 30 moving fast over my shoulders, arms, torso.
Frustrated after showering didn't help, I sprayed bug spray over my body and it seems to have helped for now.
It was very hard to see but I think it had 8 legs and a lighter head with a darker body, they look silver/brown in colour.
Thanx for any info.
Hi Nick,
Do these tiny crawling mites bite you? Create a rash? Or are they just making you itch without any visible sign of their presence?
Do you seem to only get them at night? In the house? On the beach? Any specific place?
Could they be a type of flea or sand fly?
Have you tried putting some Tea Tree Oil on your skin? That may help to keep them away as tea tree has anti-parasitic properties.
Believe it or not, even eating garlic may help. If you are getting/seeing these tiny crawling mites in your house, it would be a good idea to give the place a thorough cleaning and then spray some raw organic apple cider vinegar (the cloudy kind) around to try to get rid of any infestation.
All the best,
Angie
